How to add a glowing ripple effect to your text

Step 1

Go to File > New
Change the Width to: 800
Change the Height to: 600

Then click OK

Step 2

Use the paint bucket tool and make a black background.
In white write some text. Text must be with caps lock on and font size 172.

Step 3
Right click on the text layer and click on duplicate layer then click OK to the message that appears.

Step 4

On the first (not the copied one) text layer go to Filter > Distort > Ripple

Change the amount to 100% then click OK. Now push Control + F to repeat the ripple again.

Step 5

Go to the duplicated text layer then go to Filter > Stylize > Wind

Change the Method to: wind
Change the direction to: From the Right

Click OK.
Then push Control + F to repeat the wind effect.

Then go to image > rotate canvas > 90 CW

The push Control + F twice

Then go to image > rotate canvas > 90 CW

Then go to image > rotate canvas > 90 CW

Then go to image > rotate canvas > 90 CW

Step 6

Go to Filter > Distort > Ripple then click OK.
Now push Control + F to repeat the ripple effect

Step 7

Go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation

Click the colorize button
Then change the hue to 60, saturation to 100 and the lightness to -45
And make sure to click the colorize button.
Then click OK.

Step 8

Bring the original text layer to the top and the duplicated layer to the bottom

Step 9

On the original text layer Go to Filter > Distort > Ripple then click OK.

Then push Control + F to repeat the ripple effect.

Step 10

Right click on the original text layer and click on blending options

And click on outer glow then click OK.

  3. i was beginning to think that i would probably end up being the only young woman which thought about this, at the least now i realize i’m not crazy :) i will be sure to look into a number of different posts soon after i get a tad of caffeine in me, it is tricky to read without having my coffee, I was really late last night practicing facebook poker and after downing a few ales i finished up getting rid of all my zynga poker chips take care :)
